RAGBRAI LI Route Announced on Jan. 27!

Fundraising with son

My nine-year old son and I are travelling from the very flat Cayman Islands for our first RAGBRAI. He has been using the ride to raise funds for 3 local charities and has been very well received. We would like to continue fundraising during the ride but are not sure how this is viewed by fellow riders… His story is on a GoFundMe page we set up (www.gofundme.com/2b46b5g) and has been covered by local press here in Grand Cayman. Any advise or tips to help him reach his goal without falling foul of RAGBRAI or rider etiquette is much appreciated…

My take is that RAGBRAI is a big-ass fundraiser. And not just for charities. I personally have no problem with any one who is riding to be riding for a good cause. I think there are plenty of teams and individuals that are doing just that, so adding one more should never be an issue. Besides, if someone doesn’t want to give they don’t have to.
