Great Iowa Fall Ride

Planning on going to the fall ride. Camp Saturday night and maybe Sunday night. So far I have found the closest camping would be Walnut Woods State Park (checked with Cumming Tap and they confirmed that as well). It’s only a 7 mile ride from Cumming to Walnut Woods so not too bad. If anyone knows of other options, would be interested in hearing about them.

I have practiced the route and its just fine. The trail to Easter Lake is amazing. My only concern about starting and ending in Cumming is car parking.

My father in law and I will be there, I also am concerned about parking as their isn’t much there.

How hilly is the ride? I’m coming in from Michigan and I’m not familiar with the area. Also, parking suggestions?

Ride will be pretty flat, nothing like a normal day on Ragbrai. As for parking I think it just depends on how many are riding, and if Ragbrai does anything such as having a field for parking, worst case scenerio could always park at the chicken and ride the extra 2-3 miles down to the start. There may be street parking in Cumming as well.
