Ham’s riding RAGBRAI

Are there any other ham’s riding? I’d imagine there are some supporting…there usually are on events like this. Are you bringing an HT?

Hey Mark!

I brought my HT for giggles a few years back. Besides the eavesdropping on operations, it was kind of hilarious listening in on the local chatter. We *are* the local talk. Didn’t do much TX as I was too busy talking to other RAGBRAIers and the people in towns, but for the 1.5lbs, it was worth having it.

73….and see you in July

When I first started riding RAGBRAI in ’83 there was a group of HAM radio operators that would set up in camp each night, and you could send a message for free- I believe it was morse code. They did this for a few years.
I was a minor riding by myself or with friends, and this was the way we’d let our parent’s know we were okay.
