What was the hardest climb of this years route in your opinion? What made it the hardest? Pitch? Length? Too early in the day or late in the route?
Also what was your most memorable?
I really enjoyed The climb getting into Denison followed by the long downhill and then the climb into the city center. Also enjoyed the climb the next day getting out of Denison on a misty morning over-viewing the beautiful valley. Tough climb before the muscles (and my brain) were fully awake.
There were many others that now all look fuzzy in my memory. The one getting into Newton was fun.

The hardest climb was the headwind on Karras loop.
Hands down the hardest climb for me all week, was climbing out of bed in Sigourney.
Overall I thought.. nothing that made my thighs scream.. last year the hills on the last day were more challenging.. Now the hills on the Gravel loop.. coming out of Moorhead was a little challenging only because we were riding in sand.. the wind on the Century loop were a little tough for about 20 miles.. more of a nuisances.. The hill before Blue Grass was a surprise more than difficult.. but as always.. I love RAGBRAI.. the people of Iowa are Wicked Awesome… I hope to go back to Iowa to visit towns at a slower pace..

John, not much going on for the Forum! Same as any other year!!!
Jill,
My Garmin also recorded 78 miles but I was with PBV and they have a history of camping in remote locations so the daily mileage always exceeds the published miles.
Dave,
I totally agree. The roads sucked and that last hill was the toughest of the week.
