In my humble opinion I would delete the following:
Half the quantity of clothes, batteries, air horn (???), any large bike pump, checkbook (double ???), candles, cologne, no more than one credit card, laptop computer (it will be destroyed), matches, nail cutters, reflective vest, blender bottle (substitute pie for nutrition shakes), electric toothbrush (use an old fashioned manual), towel (bring a lighter sham-wow type), wand brush and any large bike tools. Bring old duffel bags you don’t mind getting beat up.
Remember that there are bike shop vendors/ mechanics who can make any necessary repairs. A Wal-Mart, Casey’s and a major drug store will be in every overnight town to take care of any need that may come up. Hope this helps!
Bike boom box? Please, no. Just no.
Laptop? You do you, but mine is staying home while I enjoy a week away from all that.
I’m also not bringing a checkbook. Fewer and fewer places accept checks, anyway.
I’d add: clothespins, safety pins, and a carabiner (or two).
WOW – You are packing A LOT OF STUFF! Cut it down and you will be much happier!
I quit reading after about 20 lines…..way too much stuff. Whatever you bring, have fun but you sure dont need 1/2 of what you listed and I only read a little bit :)
You have twice the amount of stuff I take. Are you using a charter with unlimited space? What in the world will you do with a laptop and a checkbook on RAGBRAI?
The laptop will get destroyed on Ragbrai. If you are using the baggage truck, you will be way over the limit.
way, way to much stuff. You won’t use half of all that stuff, way to much cloth. I’d add bike and helmet to the list tho ! LOL
add to list : spare tire tube and device to inflate in case of a flat, Chamois Butt’r Anti-Chafe Cream, good light weight breathable rain jacket.
This same list appeared on the RAGBRAI Forum in 2018. Not sure what the goal is here.

I would suggest taking one pair bike tights and one long sleeve jersey. It has been cool in the mornings.
So this list is bigger than last years. Did you take all what was on your list from last year and decided you needed more? Or did you not go last year?
Oh I went last year! Self-supported :)
You carried all that crap on your bike????
:O :O :O My crap is stuff and your stuff is CRAP! Hahaha!
If you went last year, what advice are you needing?
