Probably not too easy, unless you go into a fast food joint and buy a burger or something. Ice is available at the gas stations/convenience stores, but only in 10 or 20 lb. bags. However, cool/cold water is available in the pass thru towns, either by purchase or free sites if you look for them. Or, as SOMEONE may mention here, cold beer is frequently available all along the route, with or without a shady curbside consumption location !!

Convenience stores are your friends. Invest in a pair of Polar insulated water bottles, and never miss an opportunity to use a self service soda fountain – I buy a big bottle of water and the biggest cup of ice they sell/have. Fast food places, too. In a lot of pass through towns, the convenience store may be a block or two off route.

Look for day old ice on sale in small towns!
day old – would that be reconstituted ice?
Just add water & freeze!!!!
there’s a new product to market – dehydrated ice – just add water and stir!
