Le Mars to Storm Lake

Has it ever been posted what the Pass-Through Towns were going to be?

I dont believe so. I wonder if they will announce those in January at the route announcement party when the overnight towns are usually announced?

Route announcement has the Le Mars / Storm Lake leg at 60.1 miles with 2373 feet of climb. I think we will go South to Neptune, then East through Quimby and on to Storm Lake. It’s the same mileage if we go South and take C38 through Cherokee, but we would have to be on Highway 3 a short time after Cherokee, then go through Aurelie to get to C63. The route through Neptune and Quimby is my guess.

You can get to Aurelia without riding on highway 3. Aurelia was a pass through town the last time RAGBRAI overnighted in Cherokee, and we didn’t ride highway 3. (Aurelia is my hometown.)

hnschipper,
You are correct. We could go south on Highway 89 to Linden street, S avenue, then 550th would take us into Aurelia. I didn’t see that before. I’m still betting on Neptune and Quimby, though.

Cherokee is the meeting town.

Nice downhill into Quimby if I remember correctly. According to a local we met on a previous ride out the hill had a name. Named hills are named for a reason.

You can see all of the meeting towns here. That should help with your route guesses!

I am thinking the route isn’t very final until after the winter when they assess spring flood damage to the roads and find out the summer construction schedule. Guess you could still speculate if you want.
