Logo/Route Clues

It seems every year there are clues for the host towns hidden in the logo. Is anyone finding clues anywhere in it? I think the hammock is a clue but I’m not positive.

Y’know, the placement of the chainrings and wheels might well be the map of the course and the relative sizes of the towns, pass-through and overnight. The tree trunks may be the Missouri, the Mississippi and the tributaries. (Pardon me if I’m being obvious, don’t sue me).

Really like the idea of the cogs being the overnight towns. The wheels representing Towns/cities. Maybe the large Wheel representing Des Moines. Working out from Des Moines to the Northeast maybe the next wheel is Marshalltown. Working to the West Maybe Stuart then Coon Rapids. The Cogs could represent Council Bluffs – Denison – Atlantic – Guthrie/Panora – Perry – Grinnell – West Liberty – ???? (Clinton???) Just a thought. It is certainly not even close to my guess in the contest. Can’t wait for Saturday night!!!!!

Band bookings, eh? Another clever idea to suss out clues!! You could have hit it, that is the right time and certainly a plausible place to start a RAGBRAI. The 2013 ride was one of my favorites so far and it started right there.

The band booking clue is fantastic CyRider. AND it supports the Cogs and Wheels theory. I couldn’t agree more with Ken. 2013 ride was fantastic and definitely my favorite as well.

Don’t you think it’s too soon to be Council Bluffs since we were there 3 years ago? Plus the over night towns don’t know for sure so I doubt if Harrah’s would have an inside scoop. BUT I have been wrong way more times than I have been right.

I would find it odd that a band with that big of a name would schedule a concert on that side of the state on that night. I don’t know, it’s fun to speculate. I hope I’m surprised though.

even if the ride started in Glenwood or Missouri Valley, where are the hotels? Council Bluffs. The casino could afford to even run shuttle busses back and forth. Yeah! more traffic :-)

…and they could always move Weezer to another venue in town near everything. Just sayin’.

The Weezer thing might have merit. I’m convinced that the logo contains no useable info to decode the route. Those cogs could represent any of hundreds of towns. We will know soon.

Android users will be delighted to know that there is now an official RAGBRAI app for us too! The stupid thing is broken however. I click on “Routes and Maps” and I get nuthin’! “Host Towns”?? Ditto!! What good is this thing….

If my internet connections allow I will be watching online tomorrow with many of you.

Android users have been complaining for years about not having an “official” RAGBRAI app, I guess now they’ll get a chance to see what they were missing. LOL

I just heard that Washington, IA was asked to have a representative in attendance tonight.

I’ve backed off of my CB prediction due to recent developments. ;)

Sorry to revive an old thread but there was nothing definite on this thread and I haven’t heard or read anything anywhere else. Are there clues in this years logo or is it just a drawing? I do like the logo this year though whether there are clues or not.
