My 15-year-old son and I are looking to join a team for this year’s ride. We are looking for a fun and laid back experience and this will be our first ride. My wife is also looking to come as a non-rider/support person. I am a Lutheran pastor in Rochester, MN…but don’t let the collar scare you off. Any leads or openings?

Hi Dan – I’m in Minneapolis… not sure how to approach the team thing, but I’m looking for a group to ride (and train) with – have you had luck putting something together? Rochester’s a ways away, but it never hurts to ask!

Hello Dan, I am on the RAGBRAI Committee for North Iowa Touring Club Charter. We leave and return, by bus, to Mason City, Iowa, about an hour and a half from Rochester. The fee for our week long riders is $250, which includes bus transportation from and to Mason City and your luggage transport each day. We have riders from all over the US that ride with us. The Wartburg College Knight Riders are a small team that I have been managing for several years. I also happen to be a Lutheran pastor, now retired, living in Missouri. Currently, we have five or six riders plus two support people. We have quite a spread in ages, but we also have one youth among the riders. We normally meet at Waverly, Iowa, on Saturday morning. We arrange for transportation to the start, haul luggage between towns, and transport back to Waverly at the end of the ride. We arrange for a host home in each of the towns where we gather for the night. I am happy to say that we currently have a host lined up in each town. Some team members camp outside. Others lay down pads, sleeping bags, etc., on the floor inside. We are responsible for our own meals. Our team charge has been $200 for riders. This covers transportation, gratuities for hosts and drivers, plus a few other costs. If you wish to explore this further, contact me at themissourimolls@gmail.com.

I am in Mpls (Maple Grove) and would love to meet up and ride/train for RAGBRAI. My friend and I are doing it for the first time and he is out for a bit trying to get his back better so I am training solo! I go everywhere as there are so many amazing trails!
