Did the Register announce how many week long passes were sold and how many day passes were sold.
The first day of the ride someone said 20,000 week passes and 8,000 day passes but those even numbers sounded like estimates.
I know they can’t count the unregistered rider but I thought they would announce the registered numbers by now.

According to an article in the DesMoines Register just before RAGBRAI started, 28,000 passes were sold. The article did not specify if this included day passes. RAGBRAI continued to sell week long passes at the Expo and daily passes throughout the ride. It was estimated that daily totals would average 40,000 per day with an estimated daily total for day 4 as high as 60,000.
Last year year there were 18,000 week long passes sold and 30,000 on the route the first day.
So far, I have not seen any official counts of the daily numbers for this year. Day 5 and 6 was noticeably lighter, the heat, humidity, and hills having sent many home early or sagging all or part of the day. Usually these numbers work their way into later stories or podcasts.
Before the ride they kept predicting record number so I expected they would at least brag about how many passes were sold.
They estimated 60,000 total for day 4 but to me day 3 felt more crowded.
RAGBRAI has done a media presentation for each day of the ride and expo. Perhaps they will do a presentation recapping the entire week with the numbers. If they did in fact break the now retired record on day 4, they would want to publicize that accomplishment in a big way.
