RAGBRAI LI Route Announced on Jan. 27!

OMG How hot is it gonna be?

I live very close to the great lakes so even on hot days we have a nice breeze and not too many 90 days.  but holy he$$ batman, it looks like it is super super hot in iowa right now.  a little worried about this.  have done several ragbrai’s and I don’t remember one in the constant 90’s almost 100 for every day.

As a drill sergeant once told me,” no matter how hot and wet you are, your always warm and dry.  Now, lets ride.”

Going to be warm, looking at the forecast for Sunday for Atlantic it says 40% chance of rain. Stays as warm as it is just add soap, no need for a shower this day………..hehehe

The forcast I saw calls for rain on Friday. From Grinell to Coralville. :(

Don’t invest too heavily in long range forecasts. Weather is chaos theory at its finest. And, even if it does rain, we can be thankful that the heat index will be down from the current 114.

Rain does make things a bit more of a p.i.t.a.  If I had to choose between the heat and the rain, fry me.

just fantastic news on the temperatures! They usually are close there.  The rain predictions are where they try to outdo each other and get crazy.  We have prepped in 99 degree weather so low 90’s will be a dream….if it reaches the 80’s it is all gravy!!

“they” even say a couple of overnights in the mid-upper 60’s by midweek. 10 degrees cooler highs and lows, sure would be nice if they are right.

Not sure if anyone’s mentioned this, but if you sign up for the RAGBRAI text service, they will send you the weather each morning. It’s pretty nice.

woof! Just got the call for the county’s Emergency management service (in Iowa) – worst heatwave in over 5 years. Here’s hoping it snaps hard for next week!

It’s so hot, I saw a bird pull a worm out of the ground with a pot holder.
