Hairball is booked in Maquoketa on Friday, July 27 (Eastern IA). Not saying they wouldn’t play in Jefferson but I can’t find anything verifying. The casino opens up the music playlist a bit and it will be interesting to see their level of involvement. Hairball did play an outdoor concert last summer at the casino.
From TJ’s Facebook page. Jefferson is the overnight host town for RAGBRAI this coming July 23, a Monday, and the local RAGBRAI Committee had its first meeting early Thursday morning, Feb. 8. RAGBRAI director T.J. Juskiewicz and assistant director Scott Garner distributed 300-page RAGBRAI how-to handbooks, offered some organizational tips and gave the local group a good launch. Initial co-chairs are Toni & Matt Wetrich, with other co-chairs and many more committee members yet to be appointed. “If they (RAGBRAIers) ride into Jefferson with one perception of your town, and then ride out of Jefferson with a better perception, we’ll have been successful,” Juskiewicz told the group. So now all the work starts to host “the oldest, longest, largest bicycle touring event in the world.” Carla Offenburger and I are on the advisory board. One big step already made: Jefferson has booked a favorite RAGBRAI band “Hairball” as the featured act on July 23!
