Overnight Town Bands

Has anyone heard anything about any of the acts performing in the overnights? Usually we start hearing about them by now.

Heard Ottumwa had an announcement of a nationally know act coming soon, like in a day or two.

I heard a rumor that Hairball will be performing in Centerville. Just a rumor, but a good rumor!

There are three certainties in life: Death, taxes, and Hairball performing somewhere on RAGBRAI.

I’m creating a rumor that the Rolling Stones are playing Ottumwa!
And they’ll be riding RAGBRAI on MichRider’s concrete bike! Some cross-topic contamination happening.
Hey! If they can give a free concert in Cuba! I’m just sayin’.

When I thought we were starting in Council Bluffs, I was certain Weezer was going to perform that night since they were going to be performing at the casino anyway. Whoops.

Alice Cooper should obviously play Glenwood, home of sculptor Alice Cooper.

maybe we will get the Everly Brothers .. ” moved to Shenandoah in 1944, where they remained through early high school.

Ike Everly had a show on KMA and KFNF in Shenandoah in the mid-1940s, first with his wife and then with their sons. The brothers sang on the radio as “Little Donnie and Baby Boy Phil. The family sang as the Everly Family

Maybe Radar (Gary Burghoff ) will play Ottumwa, he is a drummer and was in a band.

It’s Iowa, so I hope we get Greg Brown some time, but just in case anyone from the RAGBRAI staff is listening: There are lots of folks who’d love to hear Richard Thompson play!

Well, as long as we are throwing out our wants & wishes, how about Paul Thorn, not an Iowan but puts on a great show.

Or Iris DeMent who is not originally an Iowan but lives somewhere in the Iowa City area now I’m told.

@swiifg: I think Iris DeMent is still married to Greg Brown.

Juan Medium Moose, I am not familiar with his work but bet it would be enjoyable if their style is anything similar. Thanks for the info.
