Oh, wait, genefruit nailed it, even got the gravel loop. Posting your guesses on RWGPS means the judge has to do more work to see it. Sorry for missing your guess. Of course I don’t make a good judge for this contest anyway since I failed to notice that I did manage to get one passthrough town correct!!

I would ask who will win day 2 but I fear we may have a couple of contestants with inside information!….

Missed 1 town on day 2, not going to Coburg but straight east out of Essex to a town not on the map. Then Villisca, Nodaway, Corning, Prescott Creston. Day 1 they tricked me going to Malvern instead of starting out west towards the river then down to Bartlett. But I did get to color in a couple of stretches of new roads and ! new past hrough town. I Had not been to Malvern before

I got three towns on day 2 and I notice that the little “Area Shown” inset map gives away a lot of clues for the rest of the route. I may have tomorrow down pat but the rest of the week, not so much, and it is looking bad for Lineville this year.

kind of excited to see day 3 map, could be all new roads and towns. But I see that map, looks like straight south to Diagonal then down to highway 2 to Mt Ayr, Kellerton. was hoping for more of a zig-zag look there.

The last time I biked into Malvern there was a biker (motorcycle theme) bar with icy cold root beer on tap. It was blazing hot and I had two root beers before even thinking something stronger. I love that tap root beer.

There is a Freedom Rock in Corning.

jwsknk: In 33 years never been through Hummeston, I think it’s time. And that’s the day with the century loop. A lap around the lake?

Right on both counts!, although the intel on Hummeston came from DenBiker. That should be a lovely loop around the lake, or at least we can hope so. Me? Well I managed to get Mystic in one of my two guesses for day 4….

I, sniff, sniff, miss the chance to visit Lineville and Missouri. Well, at least the Cubs could win the Series this year. Yeah, supposedly they have a decent chance!

Can I believe my eyes??? On the last two days, RAGBRAI is visiting TWO wineries! Mrs. Woo and I cannot wait to sample more of Iowa’s fruit of the vine. On the way home, we’ll stop in Le Claire at Wide River Winery’s store before hitting I-80. As I noted on another thread, this gives greater meaning to that famous line from Field of Dreams: “Is this Heaven? No. It’s Iowa.”

Thanks, TJ, for such a wonderful ending for the last two days of the ride.

See you along the I-O-Way in July.

Hallelujah; Columbus Junction and Louisa County lets me cross off #98 of 99 Iowa counties. Jwsknk, we really need to bend TJ’s ear about getting Allamakee off a lot of people’s list.

Think I counted up 10 “new for me” pass through towns and 2 overnight towns. And yes jake d, every time I see TJ on the trail, so is next year the year I get to cross off the last county? Waukon as an overnight maybe?

Sure gunna miss adding some towns to my Never-Bin-Through spreadsheet this year as I won’t be on this year’s ride. C-y’all next year. Be safe, consume copious amts of pie and craft beer for me and have the ride of your life!
