I slacked-off in 2011 ~ gained a little over 10# ~ worked way too much!

For 2012 ~ I purchased a Concept2 Rower, and entered a January Challenge.
I’m signed-up for yoga and hockey for Q1 2012, and will spin 1-2x per week.
I’ve entered two tri-athlons for June;  Run, bike, kayak (no swimming)
Purchased a 17′ sea kayak, and will train when the ice breaks up.
Hoping to make TOSRV, RAGBRAI, DALMAC and other big rides,
and may climb Mt. Whitney in 2012

OK now . . . I’ve made it public ~ now I’ve got to do it!!

Happy New Year MR, and for everyone else!

Hey, Iceman,

I have the jersey you were looking for. 2010 XXL.  Since I got a little sarcastic on our recent discourse about music on RAGBRAI, I will make amends by sending you the jersey if you send me your E-Mail.

Happy New Year

ps  Since I rode with Muscatine,IA club the jersey has MELON CITY on the side panel

In 2012 I resolve to ride BRR and RAGBRAI — every inch of the way on each event.
I also resolve to ride an average of 10 miles per day (3660 miles over the course of the year); although considering the other demands on my time that may be a bit more than I can manage — but it’s still a target at which I can aim.
And I resolve to commute to work using my bike at least twice a week.

Years ago, while pedaling x-country, I met a British couple (also riding x-c) in Missouri. To my eye (looking at their “gear” and their “kit” and the cigarettes they were smoking atop each hill), they seemed terribly ill-prepared for the journey. They, however, were enjoying one of the more memorable trips of their life, having a wonderful time of it all.

We rode together to Washington, D.C..

On the evening before we parted, David gave me what I now consider some of the best advice I’ve ever received.

“No expectations, therefore no disappointments,” he told me.

I think of those words often.

Bring on 2012!

Best,
~ Kevin

I’ve resolved to make 2012 bike year.  I just signed up for three more events before Ragbrai and will probably sign up for another.

Happy New Year everyone!

I quit smokin today, and will ride 1500 miles before ragbrai and will lose 10 lbs before ragbrai bringing total weight loss to 35 lbs in 3 years,  ALL because of ragbrai
