RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party set for Friday, January 28! Get your tickets

Saw a feeder pig roadkill this morning. I can say I’ve never seen a pig before. Just because of the novelty, vultures are my favorite roadkill. Snapping turtle was the worst ever (Nothing ate it, so beside the awful smell, it stunk for a couple weeks). My question is what exotic roadkill have you seen in your travels over the years?

An armadillo. I live in the Kansas City area and they really aren’t common here. Only armadillo I’ve ever seen here is a dead one.

Who is it that carries the trinkets (beads etc.) often seen laying on the carcass?

I can debunk a popular myth that it’s Team Roadkill. Team Roadkill does NOT decorate the road kill, never has. I was part of TRK for 5 RAGBRAIs. We don’t want to get blamed.

I kind of like the practice. I think it is the RAGBRAI link to ancient cultures in honoring the dead.
