Ron Oman Charter: Am I being scammed?

It’s now two days before I’m scheduled to get a ride from Omaha to Onawa through Ron Oman Charters and they still have not communicated departure times. No response to any of my communication over the last few days. I have a 10am appointment at a bike shop in Omaha and I just want to make sure I have enough time to catch the afternoon bus. This is beyond frustrating. Anyone else heard back from Ron Oman Charters???

It is a legit charter, so scam unlikely. Some of them have a meet-up hotel in Omaha, so if you know that you can try calling the meet-up for info and perhaps a working contact. Charters tend to re-use the same place each year, so if Google turns up an old place, check them out. My next move would be to see if you can find a cc list in their email and contact those people. For good measure, re-check your spam folder and be sure you replied to any must-reply requests.

I doubt a scam, they have been in the RAGBRAI business for 35 years.

Update: Most definitely not a scam. They were just slow to respond. All is well.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I had a really fantastic experience with Ron Oman Charters. I used his services to get from Davenport to Des Moines after the end of RAGBRAI, and he could not have been more punctual and professional. Highly recommended.

Is there a way to delete this thread? I ended up having a great experience with the charter, and don’t want to lead others astray. Can a moderator please delete this?

As new topics begin appearing, this one will slowly disappear from page one of the “Forums” page. After that, it will only show up if someone runs a search for ROC. On the other hand, you had a point in asking the original question and then took the time to comment regarding a positive outcome. D
