Call the bike shops and clubs in your area, they may know of a contact. lots of bikers in TX.
As to charters, they all are reliable, just pick the level of service you want.
I live in DFW, was raised in IA. Been on 9 RAGBRAIs. The last 7 have been with Brancel Charters. Nothing bad to say about Pork Belly except they’re a touch too big.
I used Brancel in 2018, and thought they did a great job.I intend to go again in 2020, and would be more than happy to share expense with someone on the ride up.
I would like to be kept in this loop as well since my team is going elsewhere this year. I have not decided if I am going yet — the route will determine that. I am a veteran of 3 RAGBRAI rides out of San Antonio.

Cool. I haven’t registered either. I was thinking of using Padre’s Cycle Inn for a charter since they have a bus from ST Louis to the ride and back. Would cut out a lot of driving all the way to IA.
My brother in law is in Houston (im in AZ) and we rode last year. We checked into using Padres last year but the spots filled up fast and sold out. We used Pork Belly Ventures instead and were very happy with them.
We aren’t a part of a cycling club right now. We just all get together and ride. Open to joining groups or just getting together with fellow Ragbrai folks to train!
Unfortunately I live pretty far to the west, so it’s tough for me to make any group training rides. I AM interested in getting together some sort of plan for the travel to and from Iowa with others to share the cost and hassle of driving, BEFORE I register for the ride.

Hey Tarin, do you ever ride with any cycling clubs – like the FT Worth Bicycle Association? ARe you looking for additional riders to join your group?
We might be interested in doing training rides. I’m going to need extra help as I’m recovering from ankle surgery.
Sure…I need to get some miles in beforehand..
