The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa

Thank you, Veterans!

As we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War, I wish to extend my gratitude to all members of our Armed Forces, both currently serving, living veterans and deceased heroes.

I am reminded of the good works performed on Ragbrai by Team Air Force, the Army riders who distribute pinback medals along the route, and the Marine, Navy and Coast Guard riders who have assisted me over the years along the route.

To my son Woo (Marine Corps – two tours in Iraq), son-in-law Woo (Army — one tour in Iraq), and all veterans, I extend my sincere gratitude for your service. You are the best!

Because of our veterans protecting our country, I am able to say, “See you along the I-O-Way next year.”

Well said T. Gap Woo!! Much appreciation and support to our veterans, those currently serving, and to those who sacrificed all! In 2011, a very dear friend lost his life while serving in Iraq. He was the man who my son credits for inspiring him to join the Marine Corps.
