Of the many ways of doing RAGBRAI, how do you choose to do it?

This was my first RAGBRAI.
I decided to do it on a bicycle . . .

This was my first RAGBRAI. The first couple of days I was worried about getting to the overnight town. By day three I figured out I had more then enough time to slow down and enjoy the ride, meet people, drink a couple beers and eat pie! Slowing down was the way to go for me.

I enjoy riding as fast as I can between towns and then stopping in every town and seeing what they have to offer. I use training for Ragbrai as a way to keep in shape. By wanting to ride fast between towns it forces me to get plenty of training in which keeps me in descent shape for an old guy. This was my ninth Ragbrai and I hope to do many more. I am 63 and saw many riders older than me this year so there is hope.

Of course you did, Charley, but then what? Give us a hint of the way you enjoyed the ride and what was memorable about some of the people who you met or about the towns.

The way I did RAGBRAI this year was as an RV driver for the entire week. AND then on the final day, after parking it in the end town, I pedaled from Lansing on the back roads to Waterville & met up with the rest of the riders and joined the huge throng for a fantastic day of two wheeled adventure!
