Orange City seems a fair distance from the river, like 20+ miles. My bet is on Hawarden. 22 miles due west of Orange City with Orange City as the 1st pass-through.

Mootsman. Yes, Hawarden would be closer to the river and closer to my heart as I was raised in Hawarden. However, Hawarden hasn’t been to hep on the idea from what I have heard. Volunteers are small in number, according to my source. But I would be SO HAPPY if it was Hawarden!

Skunks? Best watch out for them skunks. Especially when Momma’s tail is up!!

Mootsman you’re right, it is a fair distance from the river. However, Le Mars is 20 miles from the river and we started there on XXXII.

Sticking with Hawarden to Dubuque. It is more of a preference more than a predication.

@ppayne1959: I’d love to go through Grinnell. I didn’t spend enough time getting to know the town when I was in college there.

I would like to pass through Early some year, just because there’s a song about it.

Along a more northerly route, I have a particular affection for the town of Floyd…just because it’s name is Floyd. Gotta love that.
