I’m guessing tubeless fans like myself already know this. Tubeless and tubeless-ready are not the same. So be careful what you buy. Check with the retailer as I’ve seen tubeless ready tires advertised as tubeless since not all retailers know the difference (yet). But they are all clearly marked on the packaging.
Tubeless have an air proof layer molded into them so they weight about as much as a tube and tire. But they are very reliable. You can add sealant as most do which makes them even more reliable.
Tubeless-Ready need sealant to make them air tight. They are lighter then tubeless but I can only guess they are not quiet as bulletproof.
Both require tubeless rims to fit the bead that needs to seal.
Just in case your considering going tubeless.
