Two first-time brothers looking for a team to join.

I grew up in Des Moines, joined the Air Force when I was 19 and never took the opportunity ride in RAGBRAI. Now, 22 years later, I’m now retired from the Air Force, and I’m riding in my first RAGBRAI with my brother (also his first). I’m currently training in Utah. My brother lives in Des Moines.

We have transportation to Council Bluffs and from Keokuk. We aren’t looking for something extravagant or expensive. Just a good team to ride, camp, and drink beer with. We already have wristbands.

We would love to have you join us! We have about 100 riders with us each year. We feel it’s the perfect size for getting to know people and being able to know you. We have lots of perks to joining our team. Hot coffee to start your day. Easy signing for finding our campsite after your days ride.
Cold beer on the truck and snacks Camp showers in camp where available. Family friendly workers and team members. We have lots of experienced riders and are open to new riders each year. We try and make Ragbrai the best time for our riders that we can.
Please check us out.
Or call Cheryl 402-689-0869.
She loves to talk about RAGBRAI and can answer any questions.
Have a Great RAGBRAI!!!!

We are an eclectic mix of riders from all around the U.S. Some of us party most of the night and part of the day and others ride early and hang with the best of them. We have diverse backgrounds and every year it is a fun and interesting week for all. Plan on partying and riding at your own pace, although experiencing RAGBRAI outside your comfort zone may not always be a bad thing. Be open to meeting new people, take pictures to show everybody back home how crazy you are to ride your bike across Iowa and embellish tales of fun. Always remember to never assume what your ride will be like on any given day. If, after this year you decided not to ride with us again, we always like to be the example of the people your parents (or friends) warned you about; if you come back, more power to you. We take care of our own.

We have an RV and Coco, who has 18 years support and has cared for us for 5 years, usually meets us in the meeting (or alternative) town. There may be room to sleep in the RV. We have several home stays, which are the absolute best part of RAGBRAI.

Funds include everything except what you buy on your own. Last year, we had 11 riders and could have used three or four more.

We have a complete transparency policy about where all the funds go to and Coco keeps track of all transactions. The only person who gets paid is Coco–That is it! nobody else. I can tell you the break down before the ride and she can give you the break down after all has been settled.

Just an FYI that you don’t have to join a team. Truck transportation is free, takes ten minutes to put up a tent, showers are just fine, and you can meet plenty of people on your own.

Team Defcon5 also has room available. We are Des Moines based and can also get you to the start, from the end back to Des Moines. If you’ve not found a group to join, please email Wendy at There is a weeklong rider fee, but includes full support.

Also, our support driver is retired Air Force, if that sways your decision. :)
