Myself and another out of state rider, both middle aged men and experienced riders, looking for a team with room for a couple more. Ideally we’d like to ride with some RAGBRAI veterans who can show us the ropes.

My daughter (10yrs old at the time of our first ride) and I rode solo using the baggage truck the 2 years we have participated (2018 and 2019). I was armed with only what I learned from this site and we survived and are returning for more.
All this to say, even if you don’t find a team, you will be all right. I didn’t really see what a team would add to our experience as we tend to do the lone wolf thing a lot anyway. But I definitely saw how others would enjoy it.
Good luck! Have fun!
I completely concur with Brandi. My first two Ragbrai rides were also 2018 and 2019. I ride solo, I use the baggage truck, and camp in the general camp grounds with everybody else. To each his own and I can completely understand using a charter service, but for me, I will always use the truck, and only use a charter to get across the state. From there on, it’s just me and everyone I meet along the way.
Don’t think that you need a lot of guidance because this is your first ride. You don’t. Repeating Brandi, just come armed with only the knowledge on this forum, some common sense, and use the countless number of people who will take the shirts off their back to help you with whatever you need.
Just get to the bus on time so that you, your bag, and bike are in La Mars on Saturday. Hope to see you out there.
Gentlemen, I am a single rider with a wife who will travel in a van for SAG. We need two more riders to get a SAG pass. We can carry your bags and a total of four bikes. We also have a 22-inch propane grill and equipment to cook meals. Please let us know if you are interested.
