The Great Iowa Fall Ride registration is open!

Was it just me or did traffic seem out of control last year?

Last year it seemed like there were way more cars driving faster than i have ever seen before on the route. Hope this year traffic will be a little lighter and slower.

Yes there was way more of that last year. Not sure why. Was the route less controlled or did people know they were on the route and just not care? I know we are an inconvenience for people and they are forced to share with us for short portions, but it seemed like way more than that.

I hope it’s better controlled this year and please stop drafting the ambulance! I saw more drafting of the “more vehicles” than I have seen before.

Southern Iowa has fewer options for alternative roads. So traffic is worse

I was surprised they had us on 2 for so long day 3. It’s always busy, one of the few southern roads that go across

Saturday last year when we transitioned from X17 onto Hwy 92 outside Columbus Junction. Somewhat disconcerting as there were no State Troopers directing traffic. Hwy. 92 had a narrow shoulder with a rumble strip making it even narrower. Had a semi come uncomfortably close. Other than that traffic didn’t seem to be too much of a problem.
