Hills Angels will see you all in JULY cant wait.
Muchas gracias my friend. I guess I will wait. this is my first Ragbrai and I am planning my logistics there.
Rene, Council Bluffs announced that the campgrounds/ Expo Center/ musical entertainment will be at the Mid-America Center. This is a huge (unfortunately treeless) suburban complex of an arena, stores, hotels, casinos, restaurants, etc. There will be a designated RAGBRAI campground area. Just google it and MapQuest will show you the location.
Also, what about securing your bike at night or when at festivities? This is my first time as well!
MICHELLE: At the pass-through towns almost NOBODY locks their bikes. At night it is more common. (I locked my bike at night.)
So sorry, Mr. Woo! I was hoping to meet you and Mrs. Woo this year! Take care!
At night I put the bike under the rainfly on one side of my tent. It has two doors so that works for me. Well, most of the bike anyway, saddle, handlebars, stuff I want to keep dry. Then helmet and sandles live out there on top of it.
Hey Rene. Where are you from. I am from Puerto Rico but now I live in Florida. This also will be my first RAGBRAI.
I was born and raised in Panama.
This is one question that no one has asked. I know that you can charge your phone and table and camera with charters(if you signed up for them) they have their own and fancy charging station, but what about the people that use the regular ragbrai truck to haul their stuff? where do they charge their phones, etc?
I leave my phone in airplane mode during the day to conserve battery. I take my charger cord with me everywhere once I reach the overnight town and plug in anytime I can find an outlet (if you eat at a church or restaurant, you can usually find one.) I also take a battery pack with me – it can fully charge my phone several times during the week.
