RAGBRAI LI Registration is Now Open!

What brand and type of bicycle will you ride on RAGBRAI?

This will be the sixth year I bring my trusty Jamis Comet to RAGBRAI. It’s an aluminum frame road bike. Jamis makes some pretty cool bikes, and they sell for far less than the “better-known” brands. Outfitted with Shimano components, Mavic Open Pro Wheels, and Continental Gran Prix 4000s tires.

What about you?

This will be my second RAGBRAI. I will be riding a stock Surly Long Haul Trucker, with a Brooks B17 saddle and 32s for the tires.

My Bianchi San Remo has gotten me through 6 RAGBRAI’s. Before that I rode a Trek 2120. This year I’ll be riding a custom made bike, can’t wait!!!!

Forget riding a Guru – I’m riding a Lynskey.

On the fence, but definitely one of my two recumbents. Either my Tour Easy with fairing, or my Catrike Expedition. The TE is faster, but the trike affords some creature comforts, and it’s set up well for touring. I’ve been alternating my training rides between each one, so I’m just about good to go either way. Might be a game-day decision.

I’m riding my new Fuji Cyclocross Pro – will def have 1,500 miles on it by then. I have 23’s on them but am wondering if I’d be more comfortable on 25’s. Rode a couple of centuries last summer on a Giant OCR1 with 23’s.

Second year for my Jamis Coda Elite. They call it a flat bar road bike. It comes stock with 700×28 tires and disc brakes. I had the gearing modified with a 52 tooth big ring. Also tricked out with DELORME GPS and I-Phone mount. I dumped the Solar panel for a couple of large external batteries. Added a SPEED FILL hydration system and last but not least a MOON SADDLE.

I’ll be riding my BlueVelo.com Carbon Quest velomobile. I’ll use the roof to keep the sun off me as I ride. I put Marathon Plus tires all around and, here in goat’s head thorn country, I haven’t had a flat yet.
I may set up a tent fan inside just in case the brease fails or I am stuck in a crowd in the sun.

@ Jboz: I’d bring the trike. When you are in a crowd going walking speed, you won’t be wobbling all around.

New to biking, only about 2 months under by belt, I’m definitely a virgin, but I’m ready for RAGBRAI!! I’ll be riding a stock trek 1.2 (2011 model). I just got it a few months ago and love it! A base line bike but still an excellent ride.

Still riding my 1976 Proteus Century. Rode that on my first RAGBRAI in 1978. Brooks Imperial saddle, 700 x 28 tires, Campy components, fenders. It was originally blue but repaint to red so it would go faster.
