The party starts at 7PM but what time would you expect to hear the route announced?
Past years, I’ve sat with my I-pad on my lap and ear buds shoved in my brain, watching (or trying to) every moment leading up to the announcement. Unfortunately, the delays / locking up / etc have been so bad that I’ve given up on trying to catch it “live”. Hope the bandwidth issues are resolved and the coverage will be better this Saturday.
Unfortunately, we’ll be at a concert that evening, so I’ll just wait till the show is over to look at the website to see which towns I’ll be in the last week of July.
See y’all in a “few” weeks on the west coast of Iowa. I’ll buy the first round!
For people who’ve had issues streaming in the past I’d give Facebook Live a shot. I thought it worked pretty well last year.
Yes, Facebook Live worked well for me! EXCITED FOR TOMORROW!
Back to your original question. Last year I thought the announcement itself was scheduled to start about 8pm central but they didn’t get to it until closer to 9pm. It would be great if the “director” of the feed/RAP would cut the jibber-jabber (interviews) off on schedule to start the announcement on time.
Last year the RAGBRAI website had band-width issues but RAGBRAI Facebook live streaming worked fine.
Sometimes when the link appears on the RAP date they give an estimated time for the actual announcement.
