Pay $5 or $6 to shower in high schools, colleges or semi trailers that are converted to shower rooms. Usually the trucks are parked near the camping areas.

Pork Belly Ventures is Charging $6 for a shower and that includes a towel, shampoo, and body wash. I think it’s $5 bucks without a towel.

I do not know if the High School or others include a towel but maybe Brian does.

PBV’s showers always have hot water! Also, PBV opens their showers to all riders!!

PBV showers are always great to have around. Unfortunately, PBV will not be camped near my charter group any time next week. Gotta start training for that city park well water……..brrrrrrrrr

Towels are hit and miss at the high schools. You’ll also find other random places to shower. Last year there was a nursing home that offered showers for $5 with a towel, free cold water and cookies while you waited. Best shower of the week. They offered rooms that were not currently rented by residents. Had one cold shower last year, (Eldora) otherwise all were hot. I’d bring a towel…

I have been using a 16′ x 16′ microfiber auto cloth for a towel, dries overnight while it seems a cloth towel never completely dries. A microfiber dish towel works just as well and is larger, buy ’em at the dollar store.

I’ve got a “Nano” camping towel that my daughter used to bring on her long camping trips. I only use it when there are no “real” towels available at the shower facilities. I don’t like it when I have to use it, but when I have to use it I’m a lot happier than if I had nothing at all.

It works well enough and dries by morning even in humid weather.

We had a guy who would just walk up to a house, knock on the door and ask. He said he never had to go to more than 3 houses before someone let him use their shower.
My all time favorite was the fair ground that had livestock barns converted into showers. Back in the day we took most of our showers with a garden hose. Now we have a tankless water heater and life is beautiful. There was the one time our shower was attached to a stop sign. Nothing like taking a shower with people walking past you on both sides..

They don’t.
That’s why the riders get spread out more and more as the week goes on.

The last shower line at a building was a 2 hour wait. You were told the wait was a half hour as you entered line, but that was just a lie. On the way back to camp I saw people showering with cold water from a garden hose and thought “never again”. I don’t ever want to wait 2 hours for a shower, give me the hose. I would rather take a “whore bath” using a water bottle and hand sanitizer before I waist my life like that again.

The shower truck line I was in was almost a pleasure in comparison. The time they give you is plenty in my opinion and I can’t recommend the truck enough. Can’t remember the name on the trailer but they were pumping people through, water was plenty hot and it was a clean environment. Money well spent.

Find a public pool, disinfecting chlorine and a relaxing swim all in one. All kidding aside, my one and only 2014, I used a hose 2x, trailer 3x, college dorm 1x, and high school locker room 1x. Saturday night headed home I was too tired to make KC and got a hotel room, I about fell asleep in that hot bath with a beer in my hand.
