I checked with the Creston Chamber office.
Besides the shower trucks and possible the pool at McKinley Park, the High School, Middle School, Community College, and YMCA will have showers available. The schools and YMCA are all close to each other.
The lady did not know the price for sure, but heard it may be $5.
We would send a couple of the ladies on the team out to knock on doors around the campground. Looking very non-threatening, they had great success. When they were finishing their showers, the would ask their host if they could send a few other team members over. Again, the request was well received and then us guys would head over. Worked every time and usually we got some home baked cookies and lemonade out of the deal. Haven’t tried that technique since the 90’s though so results may vary…
Shower? I perspire so much, and re-hydrate enough that my perspiration doesn’t smell. I would ask others to verify this, but for some reason, I am always riding alone!
Malvern (first pass through town on Day 1) will have the public pool open with showers available – if anyone wants to leave Glenwood first and then shower. The pool is right on the route.
