Who’s Excited?

It’s not long now until the best week in the corn! I’m checking the forum while taking a break on a ride. It’s mid-morning here so it’s too early for pie and the bars are still closed. But it won’t be on Ragbrai! Yahoo can’t wait!

1st year guy here and counting the days to make this part of my month long vacation.

A little nervous because no packets yet and we leave or home in 7 days heading east

1st year gal here, wondering if I should have taken Wile E. Coyote’s advice to install ACME Super Duper Rocket Boosters for the slopes! ;-) I’ve been riding often on my (soon to be 2 month old bike), but I haven’t biked for years before that. Here’s hoping for strong tailwinds all week!

Gary, have you dropped an email to to ask?

First year dude here and riding with my first year daughter Brianna…so so excited. Did 71 miles and 2k feet of climbing and when I finished it was 97 degrees…Helen you got this and the slopes you just have to be slow and steady up them. Ride on!!

I’ve been in this oceanside town, where the entire elevation is 7 feet! Hopefully, the frequent slowing and accelerating at cross streets has helped my climbing muscles somewhat. Will be inland soon, able to do some good hilly terrain. Wish I could bring the cooling ocean breezes along to Iowa!

I am starting to be an old timer but not as old as my dad who is also doing it at 76. I think this will be his 25th time and he is still excited and looking forward to it as the rest of our family. It has changed over the years but I am sure it will still be a great experience. Only thing is it is a week long event so if you have to wait a few minutes for something, just visit with the stranger next to you and enjoy everything around you. There is no rush and enjoy every minute!!!!
