I see this is an old post but it caught my eye as a newly addicted Zwifter. Since the brutal cold started and the big snows that don’t get properly cleaned up I stopped commuting to work and needed some ride time somehow and discovered Zwift. I knew about it but I had no real interest until I became desperate. Now I can’t wait to get home to ride!
Being in the Midwest and not a big fan of the cold I bit the bullet and bought a Wahoo Kickr’ and started using Zwift mid-December. Since then I’ve put in almost 500 miles on Zwift alone. I really like it! The fat bike really only gets used on weekends now. It’s nice to get home from work, hit the basement and ride. I will definitely buy the Kick’r Climb next year to add to the realistic feel. Hopefully these miles will help for RAGBRAI this year.
Just catching up on recent posts to last year’s original question. I started hitting Zwift in mid January as temps have been cold here in Columbus. I think I have in about 400 miles so far. I was in Virginia this week and got in about 50 miles and 3500 ft in real outdoor riding. Zwift really helps me in getting prepped to hit the road and start climbing. Looking forward to seeing this year’s actual routes to get the real numbers on the climbs.

That’a 40 days of solid riding.
