Geography in Zion
Jane Livingston and her 8-year-old grandson, Garrett, set up a giant U.S. map in the unincorporated town of Zion and asked riders to shout out where they lived. By 8:45 a.m., the map had stars in 48 states (all except Alabama and Alaska) and a growing list of locations farther afield: Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Guam, Mexico and Uganda.
“My East Coast got all wacko,” Livingston said of the hand-drawn sign. “But we’re having fun, and it’s a great geography lesson.”
