If the heat index in Iowa is anywhere close to what we are experiencing this week, you’ll be glad to see the men from the Iowa Air National Guard along the RAGBRAI route.
A big thanks to Master Sgt. Marty Smith, a firefighter with the Iowa Air National Guard’s 132nd Fighter Wing in Des Moines, and “Team H2O” for supporting RAGBRAI with free water along the route. The team will cool off riders with over 3,000 gallons of water per day! Be sure to stop and say hello.
The Air Guard’s water buffalo will appear along the RAGBRAI route according to the following schedule:
Sunday, July 24
Carson
Monday, July 25
Between Kimballton & Manning (8 miles North of Kimballton)
Tuesday, July 26
Just East of Churdan (Hwy 4/P29)
Wednesday, July 27
White Oak Vineyards
Thursday, July 28
Rock Creek State Park
Friday, July 29
Homestead
Saturday, July 30
Wilton
Team H2O of the Iowa Air National Guard looks forward to seeing you!

Tanks in advance to the Iowa Air National Guard. Not only have they had water in the past at stops each day… even more they have had encouraging words to all of us as we pedal along! And that means A LOT!!
Thanks to the Guard for the water and the Air Force for helping change flats. People remember these kind gestures.
Thanks to a great group of America’s best in advance!!!!
Having the ANG on the route makes it so much easier and safer- I don’thave to think as much about staying hydrated, knowing that there is a big supply of water waiting for me.
Hey Marty,
It will be good to see you out there again. It’s been a whole year! What kind of pie would you like this year?

I love these guys.
A big salute to these men and women who make our ride so much more enjoyable and safe ! !
