Johnny Holm Band to Rock Storm Lake

Hopefully riders will “Catch a Tailwind” that will push them into the town of Storm Lake as this will be a stop that you wouldn’t want to miss on the RAGBRAI journey! Storm Lake’s entertainment committee has picked their three bands to perform on the main stage on Sunday, July 25th.
Surrounding himself with the finest musicians in the Midwest and a show that’s described as “Never a dull moment,” The Johnny Holm Band has been picked to headline the main stage. Johnny is the leader and front man of the most widely known and traveled band in America.
The show is dedicated to the fans, and they do most of the entertaining. Mostly impromptu, the show moves with the speed of lightning and changes direction as soon as “the pied piper” notices a lag.
Millions of people have seen Johnny over the years, and millions of people have been part of his “fantourage” and RAGBRAI riders know him all too well! “It’s like a party with 15,000 of our closest friends!” says Johnny. “Can’t wait to get to Storm Lake for RAGBRAI!” The Johnny Holm Band has quickly become a RAGBRAI favorite after awesome performances in Spencer, Jefferson and last year in Indianola. 
Opening for Storm Lake’s headliner will be High & Mighty. High & Mighty is a high energy Rhythym & Blues, Funk and Soul dance band and has been nominated as the best R&B act by the Minnesota Music Academy. High & Mighty’s unique mix of personalities and musical talents weave a richly textured tapestry of sight and sound.
To kick off the evening is Okoboji’s own Chrome Union. Chrome Union has been rocking stages and entertaining crowds since 2002. Their unique blend of music includes covers of your favorite new rock, classic rock, country and funk songs along with an impressive collection of alternative originals. With three powerful lead singers and a skin tight rhythm section, these homegrown Northwest Iowa boys are sure to impress!
The main stage will be located downtown Storm Lake just off of 7th Street, facing south on Lake Avenue. The bands are free to all who are willing to listen, however there will be a small admittance fee into the beer garden where you must be 21 or over. Chrome Union will be starting around 4pm, High & Mighty at 7p.m. and The Johnny Holm Band at 9p.m. (Times are subject to change.) This will date me but I do not care…..I was 18 in 1981 and was going to see Johnny Holmes Fun Show at the Blue Moon in Marshall Minnesota!!!!!
