RAGBRAI 2012: Lingo: Mount Vernon's real rockstar
- 27 July, 2012

Mount Vernon – A guy dressed like Elvis hands out beads to riders coming through town, but it’s Lingo who’s getting all the attention.
The 6-year-old Belgian Malinois, one of three dogs that works with the Marion Police Department, is spending his day taking photos with adoring riders.
“I couldn’t let him sit in the car for eight hours out here,” says Officer Jason Schamberger, Lingo’s handler.
Schamberger came to Mount Vernon for the day to help with traffic control, he said.
Lingo might be spending the day basking in glory, but on a normal day, he can be found at work searching for narcotics or tracking and apprehending criminals.
