Who cares? Its clear from posts like this that there is no appeasing people in this situation. You wanted him fired. The Register did that. Then RAGBRAI – a non profit arm of the Register – donated a ton of money to the UIHC. But you’re still not happy.
I was going to say I don’t think that Full Court Press is involved with the Jethros owner one bit.
I have nothing against the Jethros owner I just am sick of them all being the same semi poor quality BBQ around the metro. That being said I hope its a nice rooftop spot with good beer and if it has decent quality food I will accept it.
There were police at the crossings on 218 as long as you were there during open route times. Also “what I saw was officers just standing there making sure I was safe to cross” uh that’s what they are supposed to do?
I’ve done two rides (this year and 2017 which was the easiest ever) and I can’t imagine how hard some of the old rides must have been. I think RAGBRAI has been intentionally making them easier to accommodate more people. It seems like every year we hear “X flattest ever” or “X easiest ever”
1. Day 5 the roads were really really bad. Almost an unacceptable level.

I don’t believe so at all. I think some of that feeling comes from that fact that we went through some tiny towns on the last half of the week. Between Indianola and Burlington there were some of the smallest towns I’ve ever seen on RAGBRAI.
Monday evening? You should be more or less fine as the ride is arriving in Winterset that afternoon. The route comes in on Highway 92 from the east. The official map https://www.wintersetragbrai.com/maps says vehicles into town should come in south on 169. Then exit east on 92. Do that.
