After years of promoting RAGBRAI to my group of friends, this year we finally have 7 or 8 who are registered and plan on using a charter.
Is there any advantage for us to form a “Team” through our registration? I’ve ridden with teams before and they had ‘The Bus’ as a support vehicle but we won’t need that with a charter. We all registered and…[Read more]
Gotta say that I’m looking forward to celebrating the “L” ride as much as I anticipated my very first RAGBRAI although, from a safety and rider experience standpoint, I hope the number of riders is not dramatically larger than what I consider a typical, 20-30 thousand daily rider count. If you make plans for the GAP in June, please drop me a note. I’d like to come out and ride a day with you. You’ve been among the 15 thousand friends that I ride with in Iowa, and I could finally put a face to the name.
While I haven’t really thought of it that way, I think it would be a great tune up for RAGBRAI. So much so, that for the first time I WILL be riding DC to PGH with a group of 18 during the first half of July. Then three days to do laundry and pack, do basic maintenance on the bike, and start driving to Iowa.
