I think the Exped is fine. I am also with PBV, this will be 4 years now. I pack one duffel with a Thermarest Dreamtime pad, sleeping bag, pillow, Helinox zero camp chair, fan ( with extra batteries) and headlamp. 2nd duffel is for all my riding gear. PBV takes care of the day to day tent and bag transfer. Enjoy the ride!
For me, I get out of Dodge as quickly as possible. I live in Florida and drive to the end town. I usually only drive 3 or 4 hours upon leaving, get a hotel, a real shower, put the ac on arctic and crash. This may have been discussed before but has anyone determined a decent route for a tire dip in the Missouri from Onawa on Saturday? Im staying with PBV and the campsite is west of downtown and closer to the river.
I use one medium/large bag under my seat. In it I carry an epipen, since I’m allergic to bee stings, 2 tubes, 2 CO2 cartridges, CO2 nozzle, allen wrenches, tire levers, a rain jacket, money clip, cell phone, sunscreen and 1 thing I haven’t been able to kick, a can of smokeless tobacco.
