Please don’t consider driving to Manassas. Thats hours out of the way… I may find someone closer to Manassas, VA that is driving. I shipped them before and it was fine. I enjoy the logistics of the RAGBRAI; I plan our touring adventures and this ride has a lot to pick from. Registration for the Six Pillar Blackwater Century MD just opened up…[Read more]
Jennifer-I’m glad you liked the idea of hustling gear to make money. For me the logistics are part of the adventure. Even if you drive the bikes to the end point they would have to be boxed to make it on the bus. No worries…..plenty time. I used to know what the C pace was; I’m more concerned about keeping my Cadence around 80. Its my…[Read more]
Top of the Morning Jennifer. My wife and I are leaving from Manassas VA, but are not interested in driving. However, we do train on the Richmond Capital Trail. If you were to take our bags and bikes, we would pay you….. which would subsidize your adventure.
There have been instances when an ambulance picks up a fallen cyclist and the first think out of their mouths is please save my data. I appreciate the sense of humor; I plan on relaxing and having a good time. I could also see someone moving a directional sign…I am going to download your RWGPS routes to my phone. Oh I know a lot people don’t care about logging their rides; My wife sure doesn’t care:) I am using Ride With GPS on my mobile phone; Does anyone have a recommendation on pre-loading the route verses just recording it? I’m sure you don’t need turn-by-turn direction with all these people and signage. I see that routes have been posted on RWGPS &…[Read more]
We are from Manassas VA planning on flying. Right now the round trip tickets are about $275 each which is close to gas….But not gas + bike shipment. For driving Factor in food, vehicle, 17 hours of driving. Thats a long drive before a 400+ mile trip. Keep us in the loop if you decide to drive.
Dear Natchez Crew,
You have been transformed into the Saponi Tribe. Thank you Angelo and Richard for getting your registrations squared away this weekend. Now we need to get with Angelo and figure if he wants to join us in the Pork Belly Ventures. Ride your bikes…
Michrider: Can I get a double to squeeze into the tent to share with my wife? Also does your mattress have the inflater already embedded into mattress….I guess you walk over to the outlet…Inflate and cary to tent? Thanks….I’m trying to get my group locked so I can reserve a spot with PBV. I hope they don’t book up soon.
RAGBRAI Veterans, I’m thinking about using Pork Belly Ventures. I haven’t slept in a tent in a long time. If I can find an inflatable mattress that will fit in a tent…..Should I do it. Or is that a bad idea? May sound like a dumb question but I’m getting older and sleeping on the ground is not so easy. Thanks
