I bought a wristband off the forum from someone, right around the end of june, and transferred the number over to me. The seller hasn’t received his packet, and I haven’t received it either. Does anyone know if it would be sent to him or to me? I believe they are shipped to the original buyer, but am not sure… thanks!
My two cents, for what it’s worth: Spend your money on a good tune up before ragbrai and save your bike funds for when you’ve got time to get used to a new ride. You’ll know a lot more about what you want after you spend some time on your current bike. I rode last year on a fairly knobby hybrid. I was slow and I had a great time. There’s plenty…[Read more]
I rode last year for the first time, and wore gym sneakers and rode a beat-up hybrid with platform pedals. And I had a great time! This year, I’m looking forward to riding my road bike with clipless pedals (I have the single sided ones that are platformed on the other side so I have the option of riding fairly comfortably with one or no feet…[Read more]
I’m interested in CR/IC transport to Onawa too – ideally Saturday morning. If anyone has room. I’m happy to share the driving, bring the snacks, chip in for expenses, etc. Just me + 2 duffles (bike will be shipped.)
Could be that you just have the magic combo of seat + shorts. But also – is your ride flat or hilly? If you’re riding changing terrain, you’ll adjust your position on the bike a lot more than if you’re just riding on the flat all the time. It’s those super flat days in the saddle that hurt more than the hilly ones sometimes!
I’m in the market for a wristband.
And am also curious if anyone knows of any transport options from Cedar Rapids/Iowa City to Onawa on Saturday 21st. Most likely, I’ll be shipping my bike ahead, so just me and a couple duffles. Thanks!
Jan, I rode solo last year (with Pork Belly) and don’t drink… they provided the perfect amount of support. It took me about two days to realize their campsites are a bit out of town, and it’s well worth hopping back on the bike to go into the town center. (Or the shuttle, on those days where I just didn’t want to sit on the bike another minute!)…[Read more]
I just rode my first RAGBRAI on a trek 7.1 and was surprised how happy I was with it. Yes, it was slow, and no, it (and I) couldn’t quite handle the hills the last day. But the rest of the week it was a comfortable ride and handled well
Hi folks – first time rider here, looking for recommendations for charter. As a solo first-timer, I feel good about participating with a charter. PBV is sold out at the moment, and they’re the folks everyone has pointed me toward. I’m hoping to find tent service, showers, mid-week laundry, and maybe a mechanic if needed. I don’t need transport…[Read more]
