Such a tough choice. I’ve never had a GPS type bike computer before and it can be a bit overwhelming. I like the idea of the bigger screen that’s on the Lezyne Mega and the feature on the Wahoo where it will stop recording below a predetermined speed is cool too. Oh, the research and thought process continues. I do appreciate all the feedback!

KenH, does the Lezyne come with speed and cadence sensors? Also is the screen easy to see? I also noticed they have a Mega XL version with a bigger screen…any difference besides the size of the unit?

Nice feedback…Thanks. Does the Wahoo and Lezyne give you readings for elevation climbed and current elevation? I’m assuming you can customize what you see on the screen?? Would love to be able to see 3 or 4 readings(mph, avg speed, miles, etc) at the same time.

So the Cateye Padrone I’ve had for only a year already went kaput on me. What bike computer does everyone recommend? Trying to keep my spend on this between $100 – $300ish. Pros and cons of your choice would be appreciated.

I saw that there was such a thing in another post. I immediately went and signed up for it. It’s free and you can log your rides and data. They have an option to have “buddies” that will compare yourself to them and keep everyone motivated. So I thought I would post here to see if we can get a buddy type group going where we can see how…[Read more]

I’m in! 2020 was to be my first so now 2021 will be my first…the blessing is my daughter is joining me and this will be her first organized ride…hope it happens.

I personally don’t care what town is first or last I just pray we have a ride. 2020 was to be my first RAGBRAI and I hope I can say 2021 was my first.

Jboz – That sounds like a great ride…beautiful part of the state. August would work well for me. How do we proceed to make this a reality? Klkoopman – Thanks for posting the link to the trails. I always remember my dad riding one of those great trails around the Kalamazoo area.

That might be something I would be interested in. I’m in Arizona but maybe Michigan as that’s where I’m from…or something more westerly. This is my first year back into riding and I would fit into your riding style. I’m almost 60 and wanted to do Ragbrai to challenge myself in my 60th birthday year. Not having a “goal” ride has me cutting…[Read more]
Eric Strobel replied to the topic Anyone interested in doing the two rides anyway? in the forum RAGBRAI XLVIII – 2020 10 months ago
I would be interested but based on the number of people who would like to do this. I was thinking around 20 or so would be a manageable number for logistics and the towns. I’ll watch this thread to see what comes of it. I need to have a ride to look forward to for motivation.
Eric Strobel replied to the topic Ride Suggestions if RAGBRAI cancelled in the forum RAGBRAI XLVIII – 2020 10 months, 2 weeks ago
I’m loving all these suggestions. Maybe a small group of us(10 -20ppl) could do a ride somewhere? Self supported?? Or if someone had a person that could sag and transport tents, baggage, etc. I don’t know just trying to think outside the box. Thoughts?

Scott, what state is this ride in? Maybe I need to map out my own.

These are all great suggestions. I know what you mean but needing a goal, something to train for in order to keep up with the miles needed. I’m going to check them all out. Love the Cali one as I’m in AZ and it’s close. Love the Michigan ride as I’m from there…Go Blue! The Canada ride looks intriguing and something to consider for future…[Read more]

I’m assuming most things will be cancelled this year…bummer. However, just in case, does anyone have suggestions for some awesome rides? Could be a one day century, weekend ride or week long. I really need something to train for…it helps with keeping the weight off.

Oh Yea…just finished my first 20 mile ride and I feel really good. Next week we’ll go 30 and back it up with a 20 miler…Sure hope this ride doesn’t get cancelled.

I ride 25 tires and just switched to the gel filled tubes by panacera. Also switched to the Gator tires as well and keep psi around 105. Not to thrilled with those tubes right now. Sandaltan I will check out your recommendations. Thanks.
