Parking at the end town is not an issue. Parking is always convenient to any charter going out west to the start town. End towns will have camping available the night before leaving on the charter out west. Depending on the size of the end town if you want to stay at a hotel that might be challenging.

Great route, I really like to ride in southern Iowa. Finishing in Keokuk is awesome. It has been at least 55 years since the last time I was in the southern most town in Iowa.

This is after very careful analysis that I guess the route.

Iowa does not have a bike helmet law, quite frankly I do not thing any state has a bicycle helmet law.
Maybe someone from Bike Law can chime in an provide some input.
But as a member of RAGBRAI nation should we not make recommendation?

I don’t care about your choice of helmet or not. RAGBRAI cares, but can’t change Iowa law.

Having spent a lot of time in very hot environments during my time in service and then coming back to Iowa to do a RAGBRAI or two I offer the following to help
– If you can train in hot weather do so, your body will begin to adjust and recognize the change in climate and you will be better off for it.

It is absolutely a personal decision if you wear a helmet or not. If you decide not to wear a helmet,
could you please make sure you are registered as an organ donor? If you are riding RAGBRAI you are
most likely healthy and when you crash and become brain dead, someone can benefit from your misguided
desire not to wear a helmet.
