Training is done, packing list ready, and I’m so excited to get on the road here in a few days. Got the bike tuned up today, new chain and going to start packing tomorrow.

If someone has “barley enough” supplies, and can’t figure out some simple problem for a 13 mile ride, they should seriously reconsider a 460+ mile ride. There are 3 stopping towns on the 53 mile day. Bronson, Anthon and Battle Creek. So that is a chance for water and food/fuel every 13-ish miles. That should be plenty, even for a rider with only one water bottle and a small jersey pocket.

“All road cycling events are way down. ” – I don’t agree with this, nor see any evidence of this in my neck of the woods. Huge increase of numbers, many annual events in Utah have had more riders in the past 3-5 years, and many are maxing out recently. Local events, not the traditional USA Cycling events, from the trend out here.
