I have my road bike I’m looking to sell, in Iowa/Southern MN. Anyone know the “best” places to sell? Any help would be great

I will be back in Harpers this coming weekend. For some reason before we left town I thought I heard that people had turned in some found rings. Have you tried calling the city? I can do some investigating when I am there as well.

It would be nice if it was a requirement somehow that people had to go do the “ride right” training/video.. I feel like so many people this year rode center of the rode, didnt care about others, cutting people off, draft lines, and overall rudeness. In 6 years, this might have been the worst. It was the girlfriends first full year, and sadly as…[Read more]

What is everyones opinions on Best town and Worst town?
Best town for me was Waukon. They had everyone spread out, set up, just seemed to flow good in town.
Oddly Charles City seemed to be the worst town from our teams experience. Lack of everything.
Even with a vehicle pass, we kept getting told we werent allowed into the official camping…[Read more]
Ryan Flugge replied to the topic OK, so how was it at Lansing? in the forum RAGBRAI XLV – 2017 5 years, 6 months ago
I ended in Harpers due to the family cabin there. That being said, buses and cars were lined up 2 miles outside of town on each side of the road, buses and charters were scattered on the gravels all the way down to 76… Harpers seemed to have it together and were working well with everything. However town was NOT shut off at all, everyone was in…[Read more]

Highway 9 is a state highway, and very heavily traveled. Truthfully with as few roads out of the area, all roads are going to be super busy unless people just stay home. The lansing harper road will be much safer, although will again be very busy if I was to guess

This weekend found my team on a test run from our Cabin at Harpers Ferry to Lansing…. We havent had a lot of hill training in this year due to schedule conflicts, but we have had enough miles under us to feel confident trying it… Half of the team screamed up the hills and enjoyed the challenge. The other half of the team decided the hills will…[Read more]

Our past experiences have for sure been different. Without a vehicle pass, we were never able to get into any of the designated camping areas with the vehicles. We got two this year again, all came in our packet. In years past however when we didnt get a vehicle pass, we always told the team and the drivers to meet at the water towers of each…[Read more]

Niles, are you familiar with the area? I hate to say it, Lansing will take hours to get into as well with only 1 road going into town. I dont believe anyone can displace an entire town because of RAGBRAI, and I dont believe they will block us out, but I was looking for what we needed to gain entry. I have emailed the info, but just was throwing it…[Read more]

So knowing that they dont want teams in Harpers Ferry, how does one go about proving they live there to get in? We have a cabin 1/4 mile west of Harpers Ferry that the whole team is planning on meeting at, support crew too. They are worried about getting denied, but didnt think that was a possibility, so just trying to get any sort of information…[Read more]

Hyvee I think gets pretty limited after Charles City… They have Fareways as mentioned though after that, or other local grocery stores. Most of the time, food should not be an issue, as many vendors follow the routes

Yes, the past 6 years I literally rode 0 miles before RAGBRAI (but i had been actively training to run marathons)… This year is the first year that I am actually riding to prepare, mainly because the gf doesnt want to ride alone when she trains.
Ryan Flugge replied to the topic Training in the forum RAGBRAI XLV – 2017 5 years, 8 months ago
Pretty jealous, not going to lie… I finally have 25 miles in… the past 6 years I have rode however I did not train at all.. I am hoping to hit 300 miles before the ride starts, but pretty tough to do when work is calling every weekend..

Drove a section of the route on Friday, looks like they are repaving a stretch out of Decorah at least. I hope they do another few miles than what is currently done as it was so ROUGH that it was miserable to drive in a truck, couldnt imagine on a bike right now.

Team Flugge Outdoors will be there in strong support… Our final year of riding, so we plan on taking our time and fully enjoying it this time. It ends 15 miles from our cabin

I had never stayed in ending towns in years past, however this year we are staying in Harpers Ferry, but its a short 1.5 hour drive home for the members that bail on us.
Ryan Flugge replied to the topic Lansing in the forum RAGBRAI XLV – 2017 5 years, 10 months ago
Its going to be a little tricky at Harpers for my team. We have a cabin that sits 1/2 mile west of Harpers on the Bike Route that we are all going to be getting to, support vehicles included. Thats going to be a mess

Wonder if it will be near the big new nature center that was just built south of town
