All this have really scared me again. I am also one of the crazies who did more than 40 mph on a bicycle just before Lansing in 2016. I will not do that again. Maybe it is age or finally getting some sense but 30 is my new upper limit.
Rob, sure I could — we just need one more rider and a driver. That will make 4 of us driving our own vehicle with as much chairs, sleeping mattresses and tents as our hearts desire without the 50 pound bag limit. I suspect I can swing my son into it so just need a driver.
I have had to use the bike shop just after the gravel leg in 2019 when it rained and my bike was a muddy mess. I don’t know what or even if that guy charged but I paid him handsomely. He did monster business cleaning cassettes, chains and whatever else because of all the mud that day.
I would like to be kept in this loop as well since my team is going elsewhere this year. I have not decided if I am going yet — the route will determine that. I am a veteran of 3 RAGBRAI rides out of San Antonio.
I may sit next year out — I have done RAGBRAI 3 times with my sons (two south and one north so I have climbed enough hills in Iowa to last me a while, still need a central ride so who knows) and am thinking of doing the Mountains to the coast ride in North Carolina next year. A lot smaller at around 1000 riders so we will see — I like the big crowds of RAGBRAI.
It took till day three for me to hear the RAGBRAI anthem — Sweet Caroline. Cannot stand that song but it has become synonymous with RAGBRAI in my mind and I actually missed it the first two days.
A slice of pie for all sounds like the best plan

Ah, and there I thought the 8 day jerseys were like wrongly minted coins — printed wrong and worth about 8 gazillion dollars down the line.

100 miles I have done on various occasions – my bag even sports a RAGBRAI Karras loop patch. That is what I am chasing. Will we be getting patches?

Ouch, that hurts
As opposed to what? A bad free beer stop? No such thing.
And we got all of that for only $175.00. Amazing value. Now TJ, don’t get any ideas
