It’s great to hear that you are a veteran of ’73 and are going to ride again this year. I’d love to see some kind of recognition given to riders from ’73 on this year’s ride.
I’m a veteran from ’74 and continuing. I know there are several of us who are still riding RAGBRAI. I’ve enjoyed running across them the past few years and swapping stories.

I have really enjoyed the Expo in years past but haven’t ridden Ragbrai since 2015. I typically try to arrive at the start town around noon so I can get through the Expo before it gets extremely crowded. The 80 vendors registered for this year seems quite a bit less than I remember. Rode 205 miles over the weekend with 12,000′ elevation gain. Enjoyed leaving Texas heat, humidity and headwinds for the great weather at Angel Fire, NM.
RoughRiders200 is a great pre-RAGBRAI ride.

If I wasn’t in the middle of a move, with all of my old pictures now in Oregon and I’m in Texas, I would really have to post a picture of myself as a kid wearing “Clam Digger” shorts. My mom had my brothers and I really in style as kids. And, we weren’t exposed to marriuanna??? while digging clams, but we did build up a lot of ENDURANCE!!

There is no CVS pharmacy in Coralville. So remember when you plan on meeting at a business or park etc, make sure you not only have the name of the business (Caseys, CVS, etc) but the name of the town correct too.

I’m Ok with putting up and taking down my own tent. It’s only a 5 minute process.
However, a service that I haven’t seen offered yet is for someone to carry my Garmin, so that it can record the ride, and then I get credit for the ride on Garmin Connect and on Strava. That way I can amaze my friends and fluff up my mileage totals without…[Read more]
