Hey David. I ‘ran into Gene’ on the coastal ride in Edenton – actually @ the shower truck. He told me about your Van trip. Well, you didn’t tell me? Thanks. If you see my ole broke down van on the way and it’s “broke down”… Ya better stop and offer me a ride to Iowa. Just me. Forget the others, they can walk. Be Fun Have Safe.

I remember Marne – “The town RAGBRI forgot”. Circumvented the ‘keep right’ sign and participated in my first ‘not fully clothed’ beer slide that year. Oh to be young again.

With luck, this will be my 23rd RAGBRAI. Of the previous 22 – I did not make the lottery 2 times. Each time, however, I was able to secure a ticket (pass) from individuals unable to attend. (forum listings)

You seem to have received great advice on the shoe selection options.
Good info from an informed and helpful group. Only thing I did notice, the reason for clipping in – using today’s cleat and cleat locking pedal style system is that in theory: the rider also ‘pulls’ up as well as pushes down while pedaling, therefore, adding more power to ones…[Read more]

Hi, late on seeing this post, question concern. All I gotta say is… if you do not wish to legally register, this ain’t the spot to brag about it. AND if your only reason to not do so is “too hard to find your bags” carry em with you as you obviously plan to do anyway. You are allowed to ride self contained as a registered rider.
