I’ve done 9 ragbrais and several karas loops. While I like the tribute, I think 105 miles is a stretch for a first time ragbrai rider. I have ridden 9 ragbrais and last year was the first time i was confronted with early shutdowns. I usually do the karras loop and last year arrived at the karras patch handout location a little before shutdown. the thing i found most annoying was the police shut the place down and couldn’t get any hydration either alcoholic or non alcoholic…[Read more]

daily temperature check is quick and inexpensive and pretty good assessment tool. anyone whose temperature is out of range would then be followed up with quick covid test to assess whether they continue their ride or not.
tents need to be spaced further apart.
no high density sleeping arrangements.

This is a golden opportunity to ride 1000 miles in 14 days. There is some interest in this.
It would be great if Ragbrai start town would be iowas ride finish town and Ragbrais finish town would be somewhere near iowas ride start town.
