Base fitness and ability to sit on your bike are the keys to a happy ride. Sounds like you’ll be fine. I never go into Ragbrai with a 1000 miles under my tires and I feel fine. Just pay attention to your body and make sure you’re comfortable and you’ll do fine.
I have an old bike I take on Ragbrai too! I’m a big fan of not bringing something new and shiny on Ragbrai. Strictly for peace of mind. The first year I did the ride cell phones weren’t too widely spread – SO – we picked up from some team a list of bars in each town. Each day we’d pick 3-4 rally spots. Most towns have a park too. Count on Rain! at least one day or riding and one night of camping. The first year we all made fun of our friend who hucked a rain coat along with him all week – then Thursday morning came and the rain started. He was the only one laughing then (to his everlasting credit he bought a round of JD shots to warm us)!
